MISSION: Our mission is to develop, coordinate, and promote all the arts: visual, performing, and literary. Cooperating with other regional organizations, we endeavor to facilitate the greatest possible opportunity for programming events.

BOARD: Regular board meeting is first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. New board consists of: Bob Smithson, President, Candy Pufall, Vice President, Garlene Smithson Treasurer, Ray Stowers, Secretary and members at large: Lula and Marvin Lowry, Sarah Yoemans and new members, Debra Taylor-Dubeau, Mary Lynn Johnson, Bob Lundberg, and Kathy Snyder. Meetings are open to the public, however voting at regular meetings is confined to the board. We always welcome new ideas and additional volunteers for programming and keeping the center open.

BELIEF: As a member of the Hart County Chamber of Commerce, we believe the opportunity to display one's talent goes hand in hand with the opportunity to explore and learn about the arts. Therefore, we contract for performances, exhibits, artistic services, and workshops. Additionally, our Art Center offers space for the enjoyment of art, education, and cultural enrichment. After all, as George Sciababba says, perhaps imagination really is intelligence having fun.

MEMBERSHIPS WELCOME: The Arts Council is supported by memberships, rentals, private donations, and grants. It is administered by a group of volunteers who provide their time and energy to promote the arts. A governing board, board of directors, and an auxiliary board carry out the planning and implementation of programs. You can be a member of the Art Council by contacting a member of the board or calling the Art Center at 706–377–2040, Elsie Bee's at 706–376-2787. Yearly memberships are from August 1 through July 31. They are $35.00 for an individual, $50.00 per family (our most popular) or $150 per corporation. We also have a student and senior rate of $20.00. Additionally we have added a supporting membership level for $120. Benefits accrue to members in the form of special events and reduced admissions on certain shows.
